April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4th, 1995. In seventh grade she began playing guitar and piano lessons, sparking her interest in songwriting. At the age of 12 April composed her first single Different. At the age of 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing lyrics and perfecting her musical skills. Soon, April began to take trips to NY and LA along with her dad to help them to write songs. April added other themes to the tune "Take My Hand" for a few of her friends who dealt with concerns like peer pressure problems, as well as teens who committed suicide. Lockhart has become a sought-after lifestyle influencer, as well as working in partnerships with clean-cut beauty brands Ilia she has gained her own following. Her birth was without a left hand. It's part of who she is--but that's not the entire story. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore her disability. However, it doesn't make it a point to emphasize it. The message is? The message? However, she admits that she has had periods when she felt uncomfortable with her appearance, and the clothes with arms. She wears whatever she wants and proudly posts pictures of herself in the outfits she chooses on social media. Self-love, she says is a journey. It's not clear when you'll reach the end. It's true for all regardless of level of insecurity. I think it's essential to surround yourself with people who can discern and understand your heart.
